We are looking for an energetic professional to work in our Media Department as a JUNIOR/ASSISTANT MEDIA BUYER.rnrnThe ideal candidate possesses the following skill set:rn• Working knowledge of media research tools: Nielsen, Arbitron, SQAD, Scarborough and SmartPlusrn• Sharp negotiator who can purchase quality media at below-market pricingrn• Working knowledge of media concepts: reach and frequency and effective reachrn• Successfully team with media department to achieve client's goalsrn• Strategic media buyer who can match client needs with media opportunitiesrn• Dedicated team player willing to contribute time and talents to agency developmentrn• Positive, can-do attitudern• Honest, impeccable work ethicrn• Good computer skills including a comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)rn• Multi-tasking and retention of data are a key element to this positionrn• Good follow-up skillsrn• Accurate, detail-oriented, and well organizedrn• Ability to work well under pressurern• Ability to prioritize many different projects simultaneouslyrn• Self-starter, quick study, ability to react quickly in deadline driven environmentrn• Has a logical mind, excellent analytical skills and enjoys problem solvingrn• Contacts others easily and communicates wellrn• Strong math skillsrnrnMedia or agency experience considered a plus, but not required. SmartPlus experience preferred.rnrnDuties:rn• Daily interaction with vendors (television stations, radio stations and newspapers) via email or phonern• Sends avail requests, collects and enters avails into SmartPlusrn• Generates and sends broadcast/insertion orders and revisions, files confirmationsrn• Assists in updating spreadsheets for internal and external usern• Call for station invoicesrn• Verifying media orders to client budgetsrn• Compiling media reportsrn• Input rates rn• Issue print insertion ordersrn• Updating client calendars and vendor listsrn• Handling client ticket/ event requestsrn• Client travel items (for account services)rn• Learn Workamajig softwarern• Negotiates and purchases television, radio, and print media for all accounts within an assigned group of markets.rn• Negotiates all rates, special placement and added value by medium for all marketsrn• Documents all negotiations, makegoods and creditsrn• Executes all media plans in the assigned group of markets within established budgets; buys media space and air timern• Designs optimum buys in terms of cost efficiency, goals delivery and vendor agreementsrn• Meets with media representatives and accesses media database to research available options for media placementrn• Maintains all media buys and is responsible for the post-buy results of all buysrn• Monitors buys in progress by spot checking placement and negotiating credit or billing adjustments when necessaryrn• Collaborates with clients and media team members to reconcile media invoices and resolve media billing issuesrn• Backup receptionistrnrnApply:rnEmail resume to: humanresources@strongthinking.comrnor Fax resume to 205-313-4050rnNo phone calls or personal visits please.rnVisit Strong, LLC: www.strongthinking.com
